Transfer / Refueling Tanks
+
What is a transfer tank and who is it for?
+
A transfer tank lets you bring the fuel to your equipment instead of the other way around. They can be mounted in a truck bed, on a trailer, or kept on a pallet inside or outside a shop — wherever it makes sense for your operation. They're perfect for anyone who needs to refuel equipment in the field or on the job site — skid steers, tractors, generators, ATVs, and more. If you're tired of hauling fuel cans or making extra trips to the gas station, a transfer tank is the solution.
What sizes do transfer tanks come in?
+
Our transfer tanks range from 30 to 200 gallons. Every product page lists the tank dimensions so you can make sure your selection fits your truck bed before you buy.
What fuels can I use in a transfer tank?
+
Our DOT approved transfer tanks are compatible with diesel, gasoline, methanol, and aviation fuel.
Do transfer tanks come with a pump?
+
Some of our transfer tanks come with a 12V pump included, while others are pump-ready but require a separately purchased pump. Check the individual product page to see what's included.
Are transfer tanks legal to use on public roads?
+
Yes — all of our transfer tanks are DOT approved. It's worth noting that tanks over 119 gallons may be subject to additional federal hazmat regulations, including placarding requirements. If you're running a larger tank commercially, we recommend checking with your local DOT requirements to make sure you're fully covered.
Auxiliary Fuel Tanks
+
What is an auxiliary fuel tank and how is it different from a transfer tank?
+
An auxiliary tank ties directly into your truck's factory fuel system, extending your driving range without ever stopping at a pump. A transfer tank sits in your bed and uses a pump to dispense fuel to equipment or vehicles. If you want more range in your truck, auxiliary is the way to go. If you want to fuel equipment in the field, a transfer tank is what you need. It's worth noting that some of our tanks are dual purpose — they can function as either a transfer tank or an auxiliary tank, giving you the flexibility to use them however your situation calls for.
Is it legal to add an auxiliary tank to my truck?
+
Yes. However, not all auxiliary tanks on the market are created equal — some retailers sell tanks that are not street legal or approved for use as auxiliary fuel tanks on public roads. We only sell DOT approved auxiliary tanks that meet federal standards for commercial use on the highway, so you can buy with confidence knowing you're fully covered.
Do you offer auxiliary tanks for both gas and diesel trucks?
+
Yes, we carry auxiliary tanks for both diesel and gasoline trucks. The installation method differs between the two — see the installation questions below for details.
How does an auxiliary tank connect to my truck?
+
Both auxiliary diesel and gasoline tanks tie into your truck's factory filler neck. Auxiliary diesel tanks use a gravity feed system — fuel flows naturally from the auxiliary tank into your factory tank with no pump or wiring required. Auxiliary gasoline tanks use a fuel pickup tube and inline pump to feed fuel into the filler neck since gasoline cannot gravity feed.
Will adding an auxiliary tank affect my factory fuel gauge?
+
On most vehicles there's no issue. On some newer trucks, the auxiliary tank can trip a sensor that thinks the sending unit is faulty — causing the gauge to drop to empty. This is easily resolved by shutting the truck off, restarting it, and driving under normal conditions, at which point the gauge resets and works normally.
Where can I get an auxiliary tank installed professionally?
+
We don't have a specific installer network, but we've found that smaller independent mechanic shops, off-road and 4x4 shops, and larger RV or camper stores are great options that can typically handle the installation at a reasonable cost.
Fuel Pumps
+
Should I get an 8 GPM or 15 GPM pump?
+
It depends on what you're fueling and how fast you need it done. Think of it this way — most gas station pumps run at 8 GPM, which is great for filling lawnmowers, skid steers, ATVs, and smaller equipment. The 15 GPM pump is closer to what you'd find at a truck stop diesel lane, so it's the better choice for larger equipment, bigger fuel tanks, or high-volume fueling situations where speed matters.
What if I don't have easy access to 12V power?
+
No problem — we also carry the Powermate Converter, which allows you to power a 12V fuel pump using your cordless tool batteries from DeWalt, Milwaukee, or Makita. It's a great option for remote jobsites or anywhere running a cable to your truck isn't convenient.
Installation & Setup
+
Do your tanks come with mounting hardware?
+
Most of our tanks include heavy-duty aluminum mounting brackets. Check the individual product page for what's included with your specific tank.
Can I leave fuel in my tank long term?
+
Fuel can degrade over time, which can affect performance and clog filters or pumps. We recommend using a fuel treatment additive to keep your fuel clean and stable during storage. Check out our selection of fuel treatment additives to find the right option for your needs.

+

What is the warranty on your tanks?
+
